Jennifer Lopez who shared an image of herself with partner Alex Rodriguez 2 years ago, on her Instagram handle has landed in trouble. A lawsuit of $150,000 for the copyright infringement act has been filed, as she posted the picture without taking the permission of the agency who owns the shot
Jennifer Lopez lands in a legal turmoil for copyright infringement act. Shocker comes as lawsuit has been filed against the actress who shared an image two years ago on her social media account, Instagram without proper permission. According to reports in Page Six, the picture which has got the actress in trouble is dated back in 2017. Picture has JLo holding hands with Alex Rodriguez as she walked on the streets of New York. Lawsuit filed against the artist in the US district court is worth $150,000.
According to E! Online, the picture appeared on JLo’s Instagram and was later pulled down within 24 hours of it being posted. Plaintiff, The Splash News and Picture Agency had sent a letter notifying the copyright infringement act to her representative but the her team chose to turn a blind eye towards it, as the picture was pulled off from her social media account. Hence, now the agency is demanding a sum of $150,000 for the damage which has been caused due to JLo’s posting the picture without their permission.
Lawsuit read, “Plaintiff never licensed the Photograph to defendant,” as reported by E! Online. However, JLo is yet to respond to the lawsuit filed against her. A similar case was filed against the singer Ariana Grande in early 2019.
Her recent release Hustlers dealt with the lives of Strippers and their unseen struggle in the society. The movie was released with an A certificate and 4 cuts for the Indian audience.
Movie in it opening week had managed to earn $34 million approx.
